Background

Woodberry Hills Elementary School of Danville, VA, shares its name with the neighborhood in which it is located. Designed by the architectural firm Lyles, Bissett, Carlisle & Wolff (LBC&W), Woodberry Hills opened in 1959 following recommendations from Danville’s 1956 Comprehensive Plan. Situated atop the largest hill on Audubon Drive, its location reflects the ideals associated with 'Audubon', a shared commitment to conservation and protection within the community.
